Practice Environment

  • Facility: St. Joseph’s Medical Center (Stockton, CA) – A 355-bed regional hospital and Level III Trauma Center.
  • Schedule: Every Other Weekend (Saturday or Sunday).
  • Shift Type: 24-Hour In-House First Call.
  • Practice Model: Full Independent Practice. No medical direction.
  • Scope: Full scope of practice, including regional anesthesia, arterial lines, central lines, and high-acuity cases.
  • Team: Work alongside 14 physicians, 30+ independent-practice CRNAs, and 24 resident physicians.
  • Case Mix: ~14,300 annual cases, including General, Trauma, Cardiac (~800/yr), OB (3,000 births/yr), and Interventional Radiology.
  • Academic: Work in a supportive teaching environment alongside the Anesthesia Residency program.

 

Qualifications:

  • Active California RN and CRNA License.
  • NBCRNA Certification.
  • ACLS | BLS | PALS.
  • Ability to practice independently in a high-acuity setting (Trauma/OB experience preferred).

  • St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, CA, is a 355-bed hospital and part of the CommonSpirit Hospital System. St. Joseph’s is the largest hospital in San Joaquin County and is considered the 10th busiest cardiothoracic department in California. The Anesthesia Residency program started in July 2021. Residency subspecialty training currently available at St. Joseph’s includes cardiac, obstetrics, critical care, acute and chronic pain, and pediatrics.
